Boo boo for most friends: Asking them directly to buy it. Or to sell it. You don’t do that when recommending a movie, do you?
Rule 1 in dealing with most friends and acquaintances:
Don’t ask for the sale.
If that’s Rule #1, what’s Rule #2? Cheat sheet here, page 2 of the Friends, Lies and Network Marketing Manifesto, free download here.
Ask if they know anyone, a referal.
Since I started doing this I’ve been getting lots of referals.
Just like Robin said above.
I say “Do you know anyone who might like to know about a product like that?”
Works great and we get to stay friends.
Kim (off topic),
I just noticed that your blog now includes ‘Ads by Google’ as well as ‘Orange Ads’.
Maybe I missed something, but I thought you wanted to promote Orange Ads (taken out by NMC members)to your readers as a better, more cost effective way to advertise? And as a way to promote the businesses of NMC members?
Could you enlighten me please?
Thanks so much! Karen
I am totally with Robin also. Ask for the referral…Period ;o)
