Do You Make This Local Event Mistake?

This came up during the Wow Marketing program.

One gent, Archie, was planning a local event, and had put his phone # at the bottom, as anyone would do. However, someone in class was from his town, in Colorado, and noted that his phone number was not local.

Right said Archie. I just moved here.

Alarms went off for most folks, because obviously, Archie was now a foreigner coming into town to sell stuff. Suddenly, snake oil salesman was in the air.

Bottom line, if you are planning on hosting a local event, get a local phone number. And if you just moved there, include that information so people don’t stay away thinking you’re an outsider coming into town for you sales pitch, and leaving again for parts unknown the next day.
