You know the kind – they’re all excited but don’t stick…
Don’t make the business sound easier than it is. The easier you make it sound, the quicker they’ll drop out and run off to the next deal. And, the easier you make it sound, the less likely people with a longer view will be attracted to you.
Good people WANT to know what needs doing to make the business work. They don’t expect it to be easy. Giving that impression makes you look silly.
This is absolutely right. Telling people network marketing is easy not only attracts the wrong people, but the people you do attract get frustrated quickly because success isn’t happening fast enough.
Just tell them the truth. Everyone goes at their own pace and it will take time effort and some money if they want to own their own business.
I agree with Brenda. When we start telling our potential recruits the truth, it will weed out the ‘teflon brains’ by default.
On the other hand, I think that if we start making it ‘sound hard’ that the people with a longer view just might find it ‘easier than they thought.’
