Jobs: The only thing that kept me going..

From Steve Jobs’ commencement address to the Stanford graduation class of 2005. He’d just described a particularly painful event in his life…

“Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith.

“I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work

“And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking.

“Don’t settle…”

My favorite two observations:

  • The only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work.
  • And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.

So do what you love and do it YOUR way.  If you’re a coach, counselor or other helper-type of person, do your business with that in mind.  If you’re a recruiter into building a giant financial empire, do your business with that in mind.  Let no one tell you how to pursue your dreams.

Else how can you do what you believe is great work and make a mark in this world?

PS Coaches, counselors, helpers, healers, inspiration-givers, have you seen the new Helper-Healer Marketer program?  Check it out here and see if I’m calling your name.
