This line is complete BS…

Two women b & w CroppedHave you heard this?

“They don’t buy until they know how much you care.”

Bah humbug! Totally, utterly, 100% untrue.

Some people tell you this to encourage you develop a relationship
with as many people as possible, so that those people think you
care about them before you try to sell them something.

Does it really feel good to make friendships when you know
purpose of the friendship is really for you to sell them something?

Right.  I feel the same way.

Fortunately, that line is totally false. BS. It ain’t true.

What’s true?

“They don’t buy until they care about this:
What it DOES for someone like them.”

Yup.

Can you state clearly what your product, service or business DOES for someone else?

Here are some examples…(what it does for someone is bolded – that’s your ideal audience – someone who values those things).

I help people looking for high-end skin care who don’t want toxins in what they put on their face every single day, like me. Do you know anyone who might like to know about a product like that?

Alternative…

I market a high-end skin care line for someone who doesn’t want
toxins in what they put on their face every single day, like me.
Do you know anyone who might like to know about a product like that?

Another example:

I market a product for people who can’t sleep because their brain just doesn’t shut off, but they don’t want a drug or something they get addicted to, like me. Do you know anyone who might like to know about a product like that?
