Must you be a leader to be successful in NM?

One thing leaders do is get others to follow them and do what they say. If you want that, read on.

Scholars say that in the past, the key to effective leadership was personality traits like charisma and intelligence…good leaders were supposed to:

“use their inborn talents to dominate followers and tell them what to do, with the goal either of injecting them with enthusiasm and willpower that they would otherwise lack, or of enforcing compliance.” – Scientific American Mind Aug/Sept 2007

That goes right along with the old school mindset lots of networkers have had grilled into their heads, and which comes out like this:

“I told them how this is the best [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][whatever deal/product]. Why don’t they see it?! How can I make them do this?”

This, say the above writers, is pretty old school leadership attitude, whether you’re leading a country or a baseball team.

They offer an alternative view of leadership:

“Let me understand the values or opinions of those who would see the value of this. What they stand for.”

Then an example:

“Once people identified with nations, effective monarchs needed to rule as patriots who were able to lead the people because they embodied a shared national identity.”

Exercise: If you were a “patriot” for your business or product’s identity or value set, how would you describe the values or opinions of those “who would see the value of your business or product”? Not the ones you have to drag and nag, but those who “would see the value” so they will become followers and partners with shared interests?

Then let’s figure out how to convey this in your marketing approach with the words you use online and off – to help you attract those who would see the value…

We’re looking for someone to partner with who’s enthusiastic and has dreamed of owning their own business to help introduce this new little nutritional product that’s kind of a high end, lots of fruit & vegetable nutrients in capsules into the area.

Do you know anybody who might like to help do something like that?

We’d love them to consider joining our team.

  • FORTUNATELY OR FORTUNATELY in the MLM/Networking (DirectSales) Industry women comprise 84% of the Field/Home Office total numbers yet according to an IRS 2006 release of total gross commissions/salaries paid out in latest year 2006 they earned only 15% of total. To analyze and dissect is as easy as attending 10 or more different Company CONVENTIONS every year. When their Top 100 EARNERS are announced it will always be around 80-90 men & only 15-20 women(excluding COSMETIC companies).Men talk building/stories & women talk product//stories. We are looking for those who will step out and speak up!

  • Independent Mind Wanted
It’s not too late; we can start over rebuilding our health. Not the industry – our own health. Ask not what the doctors and drugs companies can do for you; ask me what you can do for your own health.

  • anonymous,
very interesting observation…men generally are the ones who use “explosive” language as Kim has pointed out earlier.

If you care about ethical, sustainable, green business and products then I am looking for you.
Earth friendly and organic products, for the discerning buyer.

I’m only interested in finding others like myself, passionately organic minded people who care about their health and the health of the environment….self-motivated, independent minded, go getters.

  • All leaders must first be followers.

Once you show that you can be trusted under someone’s authority, then you can be trusted to be an authority.

  • I’m working with a school who is ordering Shaklee Basic H2 in order to go GREEN. They are asking for references of other businesses that are using it. Please contact me if you can help with this inquirey. Thanks Bette Davis
