Two things about this statement.
1. It’s true. The person who did that, Mary Jane, can be heard telling her story on the Klaver Podcast here (#1 and #2)
2. The course she took to get those results was the Three Scripts: 100 customers 100 days.. It was $269 then for a 7.5 hour-three-day tele-course. That program is now available for $69 (on CD with book) here.
Does this mean that you will do this?
I don’t know. MJ is a go getter type, no doubt about it. And she haa a good product story. Authentic and genuine. And she LOVES her product.
What about you? Is it worth a good college try?

I have always found the title of your book very descriptive and something many of us say.
I guess one question those of us in the nutrition field should ask is what can we say as a ‘product story’ without crossing the FDA’s (unreasonable) boundaries? Even saying we don’t get as many colds as we once did could be construed as making a disease claim and a BIG no-no….
Peggy. I market nutritionals and although we’re allowed to ‘advertise,’ all ads have to be run by the company for approval for that very reason.
Here’s my take. We can say ‘the product boosts the immune system’ … we cannot say it ‘cures.’ I can say, “I used to have sinus infections twice a year. Since taking the product I haven’t had one.” If I run into someone who has a sinus infection (or cold or illness) and say, here, try this and your cold (or whatever) will be cured, that’s where we have the problem. Like Kim teaches, we only talk about what the product did for us, and never make promises about what it will do for others.
Personally, I try to market my product to people as ‘preventative.’ My product has lots of ‘claims to fame’ and if someone has a medical problem and has heard of the product and wants to try it I always make copies of the respective products from the product manual that gives an in-depth description of each product and ask them to show it to their doctor before taking it.
I would like to know what others are saying about their nutritionals as well.

No matter what, when you can show a before and after that dramatic, the way MJ did, you really don’t need to say more. It’s harder when your story is more energy or being calmer or happier. That doesn’t have the visual impact. I’ve always heard seeing is believing and I think that’s what made MJ’s story so compelling and people so willing to listen and try it for themselves.
