So said Steve Jobs at his moving Stanford University commencement address in 2005.
Below is the email that Apple’s new CEO Tim Cook sent to Apple staff, of whom
my nephew is one. It best expresses the inexpressible….
“We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today.
“Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.
“His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.
“You can share remembrances with Apple at email@example.com.
Here is a post from the eve of his stepping down as CEO.
Do not therefore consider this life as an object of any moment. Look back on the immense gulf of time already past; and forwards, to that infinite duration yet to come, and you will find how trifling the difference is between a life of three days and of three ages.
Let us then employ properly this moment of time allotted us by fate, and leave the world contentedly; like a ripe olive dropping from its stalk, speaking well of the soil that produced it, and of the tree that bore it.

Oh, my what a beautiful tribute to a man who has probably done more to change our world than any other modern person. Thanks to you Kim, I was just beginning to understand his impact on humanity. My I Phone is the finest piece of technology I have ever seen. I just may buy a Mac computer next time.
Steve Jobs was a true visionary, even if you never purchased a Macintosh, it was because of the innovation at Apple made other companies improve products they made. Imac, Ipod, Iphone and Ipod has changed the way we listen to music, work at home and work and read books for ever… The world has lost a great visionary…
Steve Jobs passed away at the age of fifty-six, which is much too young.
He contributed so much to the world and he will be missed.
