In this thoughtful and inspiring post, my pal Robert Scoble urges Democrats to ‘be better’ and thereby become better. AND…
The same is true for Republicans. If each group ‘aspires to be better’ and reach higher, rather than take low-level and personal pot-shots at each other, wouldn’t we be a better country?
Wonderful post that applies to ANY ONE OF US, regardless of our persuasion. Think?
Hmmm, politics on a business blog? I’m disappointed. Lost a few points on this one, Kim.
It’s not about politics, it’s about people. Any people in any area should aspire to reach higher, become better, and leave the world a better place than we found it. And I believe that’s especially true for us as entrepreneurs, historically America’s greatest driving force.
Just leave politics out of business, would you? The world is automatically a better place with less politics. Everyone I’ve asked agrees… Thoughts, anyone?
I completely agree!!
All of that mudslinging does nothing but obscure the real issues and make everyone involved look bad. I am hoping that the debates will be more straightforward. At least they’ll be moderated :).
With all of the “crap” going on between the two parties…I don’t know what I am anymore. “Fire All Of Them” is what I say.

Thanks, guys…
Roland – you write “Hmmm, politics on a business blog? I’m disappointed. Lost a few points on this one, Kim.”
But I like what you said.
“Any people in any area should aspire to reach higher, become better, and leave the world a better place than we found it. And I believe that’s especially true for us as entrepreneurs, historically America’s greatest driving force.”
Amen. So if this is the message my readers get from this post and comment, that is a VERY good thing.
In business too, we can become petty and personal, and that destroys businesses, especially in the NM field where so many friends and relatives get involved with each other.
Think?
Political policies directly affects the business world. That’s just reality.
Having said that, I am all for term limits. This would help prevent people (lawyers in particular) from becoming career politicians. They will then do things not to get re-elected, but instead, put the people and the country first.
(We currently have term limits on the presidency and most state governorships, so why not also on the members of Congress? Put it to a nationwide vote!)
Hi Kim,
There are some interesting thoughts I would like to point out.
As leaders in this country they represent not only themselves, us and US image.
Leaders set the example and ohters follow suit.
Tell me what their plans are to unit us again and make us stronger.
Tell me what we can do, not what we are not doing.
Don’t attack each other, tell me why and list reasons why I should vote and support the person running for office.
Different mind sets are in order.
It’s never to late!

Like it or not, politics affect all our lives. We can decide not to be active in the process and thus allow others to make those decisions for us, or we can take a little time to get informed and involved and BE citizens of a democratic republic.
Do what you want everyone else to do.
