So says Donna Johnson in Part III of our recent phone interview.
Here’s another observation:
“One of the best things you can do for your kids is to let them watch you do this business…watch your attitude as you get no’s and yes’s…they’ll have obstacles too…and this way they can see how YOU deal with them…”
Here’s the audio of Part III of my interview with Donna Johnson, #1 earner at Arbonne.
Another MP3.
“To me, a sign of success is a full calendar.” Think?

My journey with Arbonne has had many times of self-doubt followed by a choice to perservere which then is followed by a little more growth in my level of confidence. It is just a process that seems to repeat. A moment of discouragement, followed by picking myself back up, then feeling stronger and more confident than before. My definition of success has become so much broader…at first success was material. Pay off debt, have more money, maybe be able to buy a different home. Now my idea of success is about the fact that I have learned not to worry so much about what other people think of me, to believe in myself more than I ever have, to believe that I deserve an abundant life and can help to bring that to my family. Success has been in the journey; the women I have met in the business and as customers who have become the most meaningful part of the whole process. Meeting other strong, beautiful women who I can help to discover their potential to look and feel their best…If I can look and feel better inside and out, then anyone can. Success is in the journey, not the destination. I see that now. The other day I told my 6 year son that I was feeling frustrated about Arbonne. That night he prayed God please don’t let mommy quit Arbonne so that she can have fun and not be frustrated and take us to Disneyland. I am modeling for my children the idea that the only way to fail is to quit. Thanks for reading my little “novel” here!
“A sign of success is a full calendar”
Right at this moment my calendar is reading empty, but I’m not discouraged. I will get a full calendar but step by step. I have only been in this business six months not thirty years like Donna Johnson. This has been my most profitable week so evan though I don’t have my date book full, I have leads to follow, relationshipes to build, and stuff to learn. I’ll get there just little by little.
I also think beyond our kids, our friends, fellow workers, and customers are looking at how we handle obstacles. Hearing people like Donna Johnson inspires me to get over the obstacles. If she can do it, so can I.

Kim,
Thanks for providing this information. I’m sure many part-time network marketers (like myself) feel torn between listening in on all the great conference calls you provide and spending that time advancing our businesses.
Making these calls available allows us to listen during “off” hours, so we can get the best of both worlds.
Thanks!!

Carole Wilson writes, I admire Donna Johnson, she has what it takes, she got it right away, I saw her plaque at our Home Office in Irvine , Ca, when Donna calls, everyone responds. She is an awesome leader, unfortunatly I am not in her down line, she stressess dupication, and so does Arbonne, but they teach us techno babble , That is why I have found Kim as our great leader. I am following her steps, and working hard to succeed in Arbonne, no one ever said anything in life is easy, esprcially network marketing, I had 4 business builders leave after a yr. so I have started from scratch ,and slowly working my way up. but I do have persistance and that is what it takes in anything you accomplish in life, just be persistant, purchase Kims CD’s, and you will be a star also.Thank you Donna and Kim for your brillant insight.
Thank you Donna. Part 3 of the call had some great information. I liked how you have created a method of duplicating your home party concept. Duplication being a good thing in this case. Help someone host a party. Build relationships with the guests. Talk with those who want to have a party themselves. Help your first host build relationships with the new host’s circle of influence. And so on. I can see why you have a huge business.
My wife and I have hosted/run a few parties, but we have never been able reach beyond our circle of influence. We’ve run through our circle. Does anyone have suggestions on how to reach out into the cold market to find people who want to host parties? Also, what should be the value of the gifts for the host and for those people who bring a friend?
Donna, you said that you give a 20 min presentation at home parties. Is that a product or business presentation? If product, do you give an overview of your whole product line, highlight a few key products or just your flagship product?
Thanks for sharing you knowledge with all of us.
To me a full calendar means I am very busy. A sign of success is time to spend with my family and a full bank account.
