How do you get yourself “out there” for the right people to see you? Here’s a way: comment regularly on posts here.
Most of my readers race to the comments section below each post. The commenters are suddenly in lights – being read by people who’d otherwise never know they exist.
With your thoughtful comments here, others get an idea of who you are, how you view the issues, your personality, etc. Experienced networkers here who are looking for a new sponsor (about one-third), connect with commenters exactly this way.
Got this 15 minutes ago…
“Kim – About a week ago I was contacted by a person who wanted some information about my company (NuSkin Enterprises). She found my NMC profile from a comment I left on your weblog. She’s been in a number of network marketing companies, but hasn’t found something that works for her. We had a wonderful email exchange over the last week, and she has now signed up as a rep doing her due diligence with the company’s products. Of course it is always great to have a new rep, but it has been especially fun to work with a new rep that is already grounded in the principles of the New New MLM!” – Walter, NMC member and frequent commenter here.
Walter has been commenting regularly to posts here. He’s made thoughtful comments and useful suggestions, which tell a reader something about him. This is an audience of experienced marketers and network marketers, plus many new entrepreneurs considering network marketing. What if they find you, like someone found Walter?
P.S. It may take a few moments to learn the mechanics of commenting here. Once you get the hang of it, it’s addictive. Hehehe.
P.P.S. Isn’t this easier than going live on stage?

The book and CD, Rules for the New New MLMer are here (book) and here (CDs).

I am still trying to figure out how to post here. If this doesn’t post, I’m going to beg Roxanne to help.
Congratulations, Walter and congratulations to your new Rep too. Wishing you both great success.
I am so grateful to have a community like this one where we can live by the New New MLM code that got me so excited I had a hard time sleeping when I finished the book. I go and re-read and re-read that book like my business bible to stay sharp and keen on how to be a great networker. I see the writing on the wall for the New School’s time having come. Do you?
Good for you Walter…
I’m sort of new to this. What kinds of things are you posting that got that person interested?
Lana
That is it, spot on Walter.
Congratulations on your new person to come into your team. Walter that is what it’s all about Marketing and by posting often as you do to blogs like this one, you will gain a lot more exposure in the market place. It is not just about marketing your biz but to do it the smart way and I would call this Smart marketing. Well done!
P.S
As we know success leave clue’s
Best regards Peter.

Thanks all…
Lana…
Go ahead and read through the last two-three weeks of posts, and the comments. Then you’ll see what kind of comments Walter and others have left here.
One never knows which of those connected with a particular person, but you will get a picture of the different people posting.
Ask yourself, if you were looking for a sponsor, who of the commenters here over the last 2-3 weeks would YOU be interested in talking to?
Might be a different person for you, than for someone else. The key is to be here and speak your mind, if there’s a post you react to, either for, against, or have something to add to.
Kim
Congratulations Walter!
It’s all about building a relationship, there are many times that I have commented in different areas and someone will send me an email thanking me for voicing what they were feeling and were to intimitated to speak it out.
Building trust in cyberworld!

Never-Before-Revealed Secrets for Participating in the K2 Blog! (part 1)
Okay, they’re not secrets, but they are things I do to make it easier to participate. Most importantly, they are easy and duplicatable! 🙂
(1) Start by using an RSS aggregator. That is software that lets you know when there is new content on a blog. I recommend Netvibes, since it is completely web-based. Go to http://www.netvibes.com and set up a free account.
(2) Netvibes uses a really neat technology that allows you to change the layout of the webpage on the fly. Click “New Tab” and name it “K2 Blog”. You can change the name just clicking on the tab title.
(3) While on your new tab, click the “add content” in the upper left of the page. Then click “Add a Feed” in the upper left. And in the box that says “Enter a URL” enter this text —
http://feeds.feedburner.com/Kimklaverblogscom
and hit the “Add” button.
(4) You should have a box show up with the most recent posts of Kim’s blog. This doesn’t give you a whole lot, since it is just as easy to open up Kim’s blog as it is to open up Netvibes. This next step is where you can save time.
(5) You can also easily add feeds for the comments that come in from individual blog posts. Go to Kim’s blog and find a post where you would like to follow along with the comments. At the bottom of the blog post, there are a number of links. Click the link that includes the date and time. This is called a “permalink” and will go to a page that includes the blog list and all the comments at the bottom. You will see some text that says “Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom)”. PC users can right click “Post Comments (Atom)” and then select “Copy Shortcut”. (Mac users: I have no idea what you need to do!). You can then paste that into the “Add New Content, Add Feed” box. You will then have a box that shows all the new comments for that blog post.
It’s actually easier than it seems from my directions.
(6) A couple of times a day, I open up Netvibes and see what new comments have been added to the posts I want to follow. If I see something interesting, I click on the header of the box and it takes me directly to the blog.
(7) You can drag around boxes on the page by putting your cursor in the header of the box, and when it forms a four-arrow cursor, you can drag it anywhere you want. I always keep the main blog box in the upper left.
(8) Every once awhile, I clean up topics that haven’t had new content in a while. Just click the “x” in the box, and it will be deleted.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me directly through my NMC profile.

Never-Before-Revealed Secrets for Participating in the K2 Blog! (part 2)
If you want people and search engines to find you, include your link (i.e., your NMC profile) at the bottom of every post you make to Kim’s or any other blog. While you can include a web address at the bottom of your post, the comment software doesn’t automatically convert it to a live link. If you want something people can easily click through to your page, you need to add some formatting that will make it show up as a live link.
It is pretty easy. Here is the code you need to paste in the bottom of your comment. Note, to make the code show up correctly in the comments, I had to use square brackets in the example. When you do this for real, you want to convert the square bracket to triangle brackets (i.e., the brackets above the comma and period on the keyboard).
[a href=”http://walter.networkmarketingcentral.com”]Walter@NMC[/a]
[a href=”http://www.NuOpportunity.com”]www.NuOpportunity.com[/a]
First, add your link location between the quotes after href= . You can see that I have my vanity URL in the example above.
Second, add whatever text you want to be linked to. In my example, the text Walter@NMC links to my vanity URL at NMC. You can change that to say anything you want.
Again, the steps are (a) copy the example text above (and paste it somewhere you can edit the text), (b) convert the square brackets to triangle brackets, (c) change the link information to your web address, (d) change the linked text (i.e., what will show up in the comments), and (e) post the text it in your comments. It will show up like this:
Walter@NMC
http://www.NuOpportunity.com
I keep a small text file on my desktop called signature.txt. I have the “code” to do my signature in that file, so anytime I need to post a comment, I just open the file and cut and paste. It is fast and easy.

Good job Walter –
The same thing happened with me back in December. I had a gentleman email me asking about my pet products. We had several emails when he said he was interested in the business side more than buying my products. I was surprised, happy but surprised. He found me from Kim’s blog that was forwarded to him from a friend. He had been involved with Network Marketing and liked it but didn’t want to market Nutritionals, Skin Care etc. He didn’t know Pet products were being marketed in MLM so it caught his attention. After learning he also had some oral problems, (dry mouth) I sent him back to my profile here to show him how I also used to have that problem. Right after he read my profile that time he signed himself up as a rep. All of this happened because of a comment I posted on a blog.
Because of what I’ve learned from everyone on NMC I feel my new partner and I started off the right way, finally. I didn’t try to sell him on the product or business, ever. I kept it real and only said what my products and business has done for me.
Thanks everyone here for helping each other with tips, stories of success and set backs, but most of all thanks for wanting to be here working as a big team.
Robin
Kim, I enjoy the information you are sharing. It makes network marketing what it should be… people helping people and having fun with life. A lot of what I see going on here is the Law of Attraction… it is a beautiful thing. Thank you. Anthony
Good for Walter – I was clearing out a bag from a recent European trip today and came across an article I had saved from an airline magazine which should inspire us all. I am going to quote a little bit of it and if anyone would like to read the entire article they can contact me. It is a quote from Coco Chanel,
“Success is often achieved by those who do not know that failure is inevitable” – The writer of the article Bruno Triplet, a textile designer says “Chanel’s words have helped me to remain focused and ignore fear when I am designing and running my business. They set you against the rules, you realise the choice is yours. Its a matter of trusting your instincts and working hard to achieve your vision instead of doubting yourself and imagining the worst. Be faithful to your vision, work with integrity and keep your business thriving – it leaves little room for the consideration of failure.”
Hi Walter – That’s a wonderfully clear explanation and step-by-step process of how to participate in blogs in an appropriate time-frame. I had no idea about the existence of this web-enabled technique and thank you for sharing it. I’ll definitely copy your text and use it. But as a mac user I’ll have to figure out that little step in the middle somewhere. I’ll post a comment here when I do, unless someone else gets there first. I appreciate the little coding dance you did to get the code to show as code and the example as an example, too.

Now I got it! For me, on my Mac – in Walter’s step 5 – I can ignore the bit about date and time. Under the timestamp is a direct link for Post Comments (Atom). If I do Option-Click on that, I get a mini-menu with Copy Link in it. When I Copy Link, I have what I need to paste into the New Feed box on the NetVibes page. And it really is simpler than it sounds. But it was a bit of an ordeal getting there too…

Walter- congrats and thank you for the info…
I just did the Netvibes thing so now I can spend even more time at my computer 🙂 but I’ll be more efficient thanks to your post here.
