She’s probably the only one who blames America’s favorite talk-show host for starting his troubles. “I saw him doing the couch jumping,” says Rosie. “I wasn’t mad at him. I was mad at Oprah. Oprah, couldn’t you have said, ‘Tommy, come here! Don’t jump’.” Rosie says that if Cruise had lost it on her show, she’d have sat him down and retaped the segment….”
“For me, to love someone is not to get rid of them when they do something you don’t think is appropriate,” O’Donnell says. “I love him, and love is eternal.”

I don’t know … maybe it’s ’cause I’m a NYer born and bred (though I’ve been ‘gone’ for 18 years now … do we ever really shake where we came from?) …
But I loved this piece.
How cool to live your life being appreciated by and building loyalty with others ‘just like you’ (in some meaningful way) … BECAUSE you’re being yourself.
Rosie certainly is the poster child for that, eh?
Makes me think of all the mileage I’ve gotten out of writing my story (and being brave enough to post it online) since I plowed my way through doing it one day some 18 mos ago.
It’s been a really valuable filter for bringing ‘just the right folks’ … people *much like me* in some way … to my inbox and phone line.
