Network Marketing Sense: Tip #1
“Where do I find good professional people to talk to about my product and business without spending more than I can afford? And local people would be great.”

Here’s a way to find naturopaths, massage therapists, alternative health pracitioners, hair color specialists, and such, locally and around the world, at no cost.

LEVEL: Easy
WHERE: Web (Internet)
COST: $ 00
TIME: 15-20 Minutes

Go to Google.com (Or your favorite search engine.) Type in:

chiropractors in Wichita Kansas (enter any category, city and state)

Review the search results. You will see individual chiros listed, and also “Chiropractors in Wichita, KS – Yellow Pages – Switchboard”

Click there for a local yellow page listing.

Or scroll down and try “categories:chiropractors listings in Wichita, KS at Yellowbook.com”

Click there for more listings in Yellowbook.com

Also listed are the Chiro schools, where you might find lists of recent graduates who might be looking for some extra income as they launch their careers. Having some quality supplements on hand might be just what some might like.

Both phone numbers and addresses are listed, so you can call or visit.

Don’t like calling people? Team up with someone. You find them, they contact them.

(One suggested source for ‘what to say when I call these folks’ is in the book, If My Product’s So Great, How Come I Can’t Sell It?” See Chapter on ‘Cold Market.’)

  • K squared,

These tips really do make sense.

We’re in business for ourselves, so why not partner with other business owners who may be interested in our products?

I did exactly that. I contacted a chiropractor – the very first one that popped up on the list – and the first thing his receptionist said after I introduced myself was, “Great. We’re looking for nutritional products to put in our office. Can you come down this afternoon with information and some samples?”

The response is amazing – and the approach makes sound business sense and is totally different from the old school approach!

    Cheers,

  • Hi Kim
Great tips and the google search is how I started. I searched for Groomers in my area. I was looking for groomers that are offering tooth brushing for dogs to see if my pet products would compliment what they are currently doing. I used the internet because I can’t get away from the kennel much during the day. This way I could call shops and set up a time to go visit. I always have sample of the oral care products for them to try on their own dogs. I use Google so much for Pet Professional addresses, phone #, owners name, services offered and prices they charge for services. It helps me knowing these things before I talk to them about the products I market.
Another thing I’ve done is to search for grooming schools and the latest was to contact a groomers association in MN. This Groomers association is trying to build their membership, I’m helping with their cause as I talk with groomers about my products. By helping them network with fellow groomers I’m able to network with many more than I could have done alone.
Networking for me isn’t just about getting customers, sometimes it’s just to help a cause. All of this started with Google searchs.

  • Great!
    Kim,
Step by step, starting with “a” rather than “d” – and do-able.
Helpful, helpful, thank you, thank you, thank you,
    Carolyn

  • Robin,

That’s so cool that you started it all using Google to find interested groomers!

It’s amazing how many business owners are receptive to us “salesfolks” if you are just friendly and pick up the phone and give them a call.

PS – Doesn’t your product also work on cats? It would be great, after you exhaust your dog market, to move on and do the same vertical marketing strategy with all the cats of MN and perhaps the world. . .

    Cheers,

    Rani

Thanks so much for interest and tip. My husband has been telling me about different Cat professionals in the area of town he works. I am starting to expand more into the whole Pet market, even horses. I work daily with mostly dogs at the kennel so that was my comfort zone but you are so right and I will start today with more Google seaches for Cat Clubs etc.
    Thank you Rani
