Just posted on Co-op America…
Number 7 on on their list:
“7. Conventional household cleaners
Household products can contain hazardous ingredients such as organic solvents and petroleum-based chemicals that can release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into your indoor environment, posing a particular danger for children. The average American household has three to ten of hazardous matter in the home.Alternative: Look for nontoxic, vegetable-based, biodegradeable cleaners.
Best Option: Try making your own green cleaner using vinegar, water, and castile soap.”
If you have no time for making your own, meet some people who use different non-toxic cleaning products and who also sell them…Some here and some here.
These are all folks who use non-toxic cleaning products, love them, and sell them to help the environment AND make some money – you know, instead of selling styrofoam cups at the local Wal-Mart (That’s number #1 on the ‘Never-to-buy-again’ list.)

My tiny story as it relates…
My 8 year old daughter just had a rash of so-dry-its-red-and-painful. I took her to doc when my remedies didn’t help. She said to change my laundry detergent, (and gave me an rx I did NOT fill). My daughter has developed a sensitivity to the chemicals in the detergent it appears.
My mela rep wasn’t surprised when she heard about the rash or the recommendation. I ordered a product and I have every confidence it will solve several problems including the rashes.
She is all better now, and I continue to keep an open mind.
Lisa 🙂
