Thanksgiving Day is a perfect day to ponder where we are..so here goes.
In 1980 on the presidential campaign trail, Ronald Reagan asked Americans,
“Are you better off today than you were four years ago?”
The answer that most people silently gave themselves is a very big reason Mr. Reagan won the American Presidency twice – and big.
This is a consequential question for us as network marketers also. Starting a little business of one’s own is no trivial thing. So think back a moment…to six months ago.
Assuming you intended that the business would make you better off in say six months (at least), did that happen? If not, how can you change that?
Two questions for this Thanksgiving Day. (Remember this is anonymous. No posturing necessary. This is for YOU).
If yes, tell in comments below the ways in which you are better off today than you were 6 months ago, because of your NM business.
If no, here are your two questions:
If you answered, “No” to the first question, and the reasons are not the two offered in the next two questions, please tell WHY you believe you are not better off now than you were six months ago.
Your comments welcome. Who doesn’t want a better off tomorrow than today?

I am better off in regards to personal growth and the knowledge that I’ve been gaining. Network Marketing has a way of developing people’s minds (in my opinion) that no other field I’ve been involved in does. I love the people that I meet who are as ambitious as I am and people who want to take action towards their hopes and aspirations. No matter what your income level is, network marketing can revolutionize your life if you persistently and consistently produce results. Get customers and distributors into your business and you won’t be disappointed. Continue the process until you’re making at least $15,000 a month.
I’m thankful to be better off now than I was 6 months ago because of network marketing. I’ve learned a lot about how to do the business and stay in my comfort zone. I’ve found two new companies that fit my values. I seek people with the same values. I know how to look for the small percentage of people looking for my hot button and I can let the others go. I know what I market isn’t for everyone. I knew from the start in both companies what to do to make money. I go for customers, one at a time.
My family has had some unforseen income changes this year. My network marketing will help cover us until my husband finds a new job and keep me home with our son. I’m not qualified for a corporate job and don’t even want to go there again. Being home with my son and all these fur and feathered critters is where I’m happy to be.
Happy Thanksgiving, I have lots to be thankful for, as I know you all do also.

Wasn’t it Nicholas Cage that delivered that great line, “What doesn’t kill you will make you stronger.”
Those in our industry that have to perfect every thing before they do anything turn to dust in the same spot. Far better to be in motion and be constantly perfecting production.
I am better today than I was 6 months ago in our Networking Business because I know a few more things that don’t work for us.
To make a mistake is human. To not learn from that mistake is a shame.

I have been in my network marketing company for 30+ years. These years have brought about self improvement in areas such as attitude and people skills. I have the satisfaction of knowing I have helped make a positive difference in the lives of others. Even though there have been times my business was not moving forward like I would have liked, and sometimes it even went back a bit, movement, overall, has always been forward, always leaving me better off than in the past. As far as the past 6 months, business growth has increased my income by approx $500 a month and I earned an all expence paid trip for two to a resort in Mexico.I have several new serious builder so I expect this growth to continue to escalate at a compounded rate.
Not only on Thanksgiving but every day I realize I have a lot to be thankful for!
Thanksgiving is a time of reflection and my answer to this question would be a resounding YES! I am definitely better off than six months ago because of my business and this industry!
Six months ago would flash back to May 2007 which was a turning point in my life…as I realized a dream come true and became a WAHM (Work at Home Mom!). As a single mother and teacher, I loved my job but felt my most important teaching job (that with my own child) had to take a back seat to my profession sometimes. I no longer struggle with that and it’s a wonderful feeling!
This industry, my business, my partners and the turns my life has taken constantly amaze me! I am very grateful for the opportunities for personal growth, new partnerships and friendships I’ve found, the growth I’ve seen in my child as a result of this business and what it’s given to our family!
If you are growing on a personal and professional level you are always moving forward and that is always something to be thankful for!

I feel that I am better off than I was 6 months ago.I had tried other NM Companies, but this year I finally found the right fit.
I always tell people I was on the right bus (NM) but wrong seat (company).
The money part is working out nicely but most of all, I have that passion again, of doing something I love with a passion, and because of that positive energy I send out, I have found those who are like minded. Or should I say, we have found each other.
Also when going after retail customers, I just do that, no business part down their throat. It’s a straight forward retail pitch, and I believe that they will see the opportunity once they try and use the product… and they do.
I would just say pursue your passion, follow your dream and remember —-
If you build it they will come!
Everyday is a day of growth. Today, one day after a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with my family, I achieved the rank of Diamond Executive with my company. My income doubled in the last six months!
Network Marketing is a fantastic business because it pays you for you level of personal development! In other words, in my first years in NM I didn’t make much money because I was chasing the money and not working on myself. After lots of trial and error, mostly error, I finally began to understand that my results in NM, in fact all of the results in my life, was just a reflection of my personal growth!
So, I re-invented myself and began to serve others, instead of looking for people who could do something for me. I now realize that NM will give you unimagined compensation for the effort.
But the real miracle of NM to me is that it provides everyone an opportunity to examine where they really are in the clear light of day.
No boss to give you their opinion of your worth, just the market place. No employees who have to do what you say (and talk behind you back) because you sign their checks, but real people who are interested in you and what you say because you worked on yourself, and can share information they need. They listen because you provide value and only when you do.
I am so thankful, excited and grateful to be involved with NM and in this place now with all of you.
Never, never quit learning. I believe Network Marketing is the most affordable and valuable education opportunity available today.
I am so thankful it found me.

I’m better off than I was 6 months ago. I have a wonderful income from Sunrider International – and have for 11 years now.
The new bonuses are calculated every 3 months, and I was told yesterday that I qualified for a $6,000 bonus for the Aug/Sept/Oct bonus period.
I receive another $2,000 bonus in mid-December.
That is on top of my monthly base of several thousand dollars.
So – yes, Sunrider continues to make me better off as the months and years go by.
Gratefully,

6 months ago was May. A few weeks prior to May, I had just had a lumpectomy (thankful it was not a mastectomy, sp?)which was preceeded by 33 ‘zaps’ of radiation which was preceeded by 8 rounds of ‘therapy’… Am I better off than I was 6 mos. ago? Yes! I
am ALIVE and I have my hair back now 😉
All I can say is during my ‘health sabatical’, my check continued to come in weekly like clock work and I did not have to worry about calling in sick w/ all my Dr. appts. etc.
I can’t think of another ‘job’ that would allow me to take off nearly an entire year and continue to not only get paid, but actually experience a ‘raise in pay’ during
a time when I was not ‘working’.
Plus….yesterday, (Thanks Giving Day) I asked my boys what they were thankful for and close to the TOP of their list was the fact that “Mommy was able to work from home”.
Color me Blessed this past 6 mos. and always thanks to this awesome industry I (we) are in!

Kim, what a great question!
Answer — definitely better off, for two reasons:
(1) There is intrinsic value in doing networking marketing. I’ve had to learn and improve a number of skills that I wouldn’t have had to otherwise. This personal development transfers to other aspects of life (work, relationships, etc.)
(2) Network Marketing has given me a venue to align an entrepreneurial spirit with a love for the internet. This happened after I realized I couldn’t sustain network marketing part time unless I was really having fun with it.
Once I realized that there are very effective ways to find product and business leads through the internet, I’ve had more fun than ever before. Networking has gone from “working the numbers” to “what’s the latest cutting-edge thinking about on-line lead generation”.

What a fabulous question!
Yes, I am better off today because of my business. I do know what to do and what it boils down to, for me, is choice. Choosing which business decisions makes the most sense, living the 80/20 rule and making certain that plenty of breaks are included.
Thanks for asking.
