Do you like to sew or do interior design? Are you a dog lover or grandmother? How about a Mac aficionado? People tend to trust people who have similar interests or backgrounds, and feel instant rapport with them.
We’ve incorporated this observation at NMC by including these tidbits in our networkers’ profiles. And allowing the public to search not just by company or product but by these personal characteristics.
We’re betting that someone who’s a martial artist, say, will buy from another martial artist – even products unrelated to their common interest.
Click on any of the words below to see how this works. You’ll meet someone in NMC who matches the word you clicked.
You’ll get 5 to 7 results for each one. Wait a few seconds for the search results to come up.
If you’re not registered, you have to do that first, (no cost) to keep away spammers who send unsolicited sales offers. Have fun!

Your vision and implementation of new things just keeps getting better and better!
I’m LOVING all that NMC has to offer.
This is a sweet example of something I read recently:
We get 100 pockets per day. When we wake up in the morning we start filling our pockets with whatever we choose to.
If we wake up crabby, we are filling one pocket immediately with something heavy and negative.
If we wake up with gratitude and joyful thoughts we fill that first pocket with a gift to ourselves of energy that is light weight.
When we make contact with these people who we have common interests and like minds, it fills pocket after pocket with energy and fun, and that attracts more energy and fun and joy.
Lots of pockets of worry, saddness, anger, impatience, and sarcasm is very heavy, and we need to go to bed early because we are out of energy, right?
I’m so glad we get to choose, aren’t you?? Thank you Kim.

I tempted to play with this new way to connect to people all day. I enjoy reading their personalized page. Alas I have a few things to do before I can enjoy that……. I will be back.

Thanks Kim! I love all the new ideas you offer us. I am new at blog-posting, so hope this gets through.

Hey Kim,
Now I know that some folks don’t consider fiddle music actual ‘music’, but for whatever reason I didn’t seem to make the cut after viewing all the NMC members with an interest in music. Did my neighbor call you about the noise (I mean music) coming from my home? 🙂

Kim,
You’re right. Everyone feels more comfortable with somone they have something in common with. It’s a long conversation if there is no connection!
