Sometimes people ask, “So, Lulu, how does someone
actually make money doing this?”
Here are a few options you can give them…
1. Customer money. We make money when customers order products
or services from the company through our referral. The company pays us
a certain percent of what the customer buys. If they are
repeat customers, we earn that percent each month.
In our company, that ranges from 2% to 25% of the customer order.
What you receive depends on your level, your monthly orders that month,
and other things we can discuss.
2. Recruit money. We make money on recruit orders that new recruits
place with the company. Those are like customer
orders, only bigger. Recruits will buy enough products so they
have samples to sell as well. So, on an order for $1,000, they
pay us 15% plus a one time bonus of $50. What you receive
depends on your level, your monthly orders that month,
and other things we can discuss.
3. Group money. That’s a percent on the orders people
‘in your group’ place with the company. Usually group money averages
about 3-5% of dollar amount of those orders that are placed with the company.
Getting that percent (or any amount) depends on certain conditions. For example,
your own monthly orders that month, your level, and a few other things we
can discuss.
Any other suggestions?
Retail money. We make money when people choose to pay retail for a product. We get the difference between the retail and wholesale price.
Get a percentage off of Retails sales of products that are in stores like Walgreens,CVS, etc.Its called inline marketing this is a new way to get payed in network marketing as you build your business.
Paul and Cheryl,
Yep right on. I was thinking of checks from the company, but selling out of
your own basket to someone directly, and getting the difference between
what you paid and retail is another way, yes.
A large portion of my sales are retail sales since we almost exclusively sell on the Internet. We have a process to take a retail customer from “testing the water” with a couple of retailed sales and then moving on to become a member and if they really want deeper discounts they can become distributors. Selling retail allows a customer to buy without any pressure to join anything. It’s easy for the customer, it’s profitable for the seller.
Hi Kim,
Very simple and very easy to understand answers. Now anyone who doesn’t even the slidest idea how network marketing works would be able to understand this.
Thanks for sharing your insights!

I’m with Mike Dillard on this one. Use the classic funded proposal to try to monetize the 99% of people who say “no” to your business.
