We too can "refuse to be trapped in the patterns of the past."

This is not a political blog. But today’s inspiration comes from politics.

In a ringing endorsement of Barack Obama’s run for the Presidency of the U.S., Senator Edward M. Kennedy implored Americans on Monday –

“to turn the page on the old politics of misrepresentation and distortion,”

He then added:

“He [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][Obama] will be a president who refuses to be trapped in the patterns of the past,” Mr. Kennedy said, interrupting his speech more than once to embrace Mr. Obama. “He is a leader who sees the world clearly without being cynical. He is a fighter who cares passionately about the causes he believes in without demonizing those who hold a different view.”

These are three wonderful goals for all of us in direct sales:

1. Turn the page on the old ways of misrepresentation and distortion.

2. See the world clearly without being cynical
. Yes, lots of people say no. Keep on asking if they know anyone…and don’t get cynical. You won’t change the world. All you can do is change your attitude.

3. And yes, let’s each care passionately about our causes (products, business) – but without demonizing those who hold a different view.

Not very easy to do. But by far the thing which, if we can do it, raises us and those around us to a higher level, think?[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
